Shelter Pointe As every person who has experienced having a family member with some form of dementia can attest, there are many stages to the condition. Shelter Pointe Alzheimer's Center, our memory impaired area, has been designed to be a self-contained setting that provides for all stages of dementia, including Alzheimer's Disease. Spacious corridors allow residents in the wander stage freedom of movement in a safe area. All rooms are decorated with soothing colors and a calming decor to provide a reassuring home-like setting. Because independence is encouraged at every stage of a memory impaired condition, you'll find that we even provide finger foods in order for our residents to maintain an independent lifestyle as long as possible. There is a successful bowel and bladder program in place which enables residents to maintain continence for a longer period of time. All our physicians specialize in the needs of the geriatric population. Naturally, the care of your loved one's own physician is always encouraged; this care, coupled with that of our expert staff, is your assurance of quality care at all times. Our memory impaired area also offers a variety of activities that are geared to the various cognitive levels, and on-going social programming, appropriate for residents in need of a sedate environment. We are aware that families frequently need and can benefit from the support and encouragement of others who are experiencing memory impairment of a loved one. That is why it is so important to us to offer support meetings for all interested family members. Participants have the opportunity to share common concerns and learn successful coping strategies in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. At The Lodge Care Center, we appreciate and cherish the trust that has been bestowed on us by the families of our residents. You can be confident that your loved one will always receive the quality care that he or she so richly deserves. |
